Trump Announces $90 Medicare Payment for Over 20 Million Seniors

by admin477351

President Donald Trump has announced a one-time $90 payment for over 20 million seniors enrolled in Medicare to assist with their premium costs. The payments, set to be distributed in October, will be made through direct deposit or by check, according to the White House. This financial support will be drawn from the Medicare Improvement Fund, which is designed to enhance Medicare operations and reimburse healthcare providers.

The payment is specifically available to eligible beneficiaries of Medicare Part B residing in the United States. However, those who are already receiving premium assistance through Medicaid or are paying income-adjusted premiums will not qualify for this payment. Additionally, individuals enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans are excluded from receiving the $90.

Medicare Part B typically covers services such as doctor visits, ambulance services, and laboratory tests, with premium costs that vary according to income. The announcement of this payment comes as President Trump seeks to address healthcare affordability concerns ahead of the upcoming November 3 midterm elections.
