A home is supposed to be a sanctuary, but in these three thrillers from Netflix and Prime Video, it becomes a trap. These films prove that the most terrifying place to be is locked inside.
10 Cloverfield Lane (Prime Video): The “home” here is a doomsday bunker. A woman (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) is trapped inside with a man (John Goodman) who claims he’s saving her from an apocalypse. The bunker is both her prison and her only potential salvation.
The Occupant (Netflix): In this chilling Spanish thriller, a family’s new luxury apartment is their “home,” but it’s not safe. The former owner (Javier Gutiérrez) still has the keys and is secretly letting himself in, studying them and plotting to take back his old life.
Saltburn (Prime Video): The “home” is a sprawling, aristocratic country estate. But for the wealthy family who lives there, the danger is the guest they’ve invited in. An obsessive student (Barry Keoghan) infiltrates their lives, turning their sanctuary into his personal playground.
